The Provincial Mark Ball
   
Saturday the 25th of October saw 178 people gather at the Preston Marriott for the annual Mark Ball.  This was the last Ball organised by Paul & Sally Snape - they have been taking care of the Ball since 1998, 16 years of service to the Province!  Paul and Tony Harrison were Wardens together in 1996, and Paul has kept the job of looking after the Ball ever since.

This Ball was also the last under the reign of Peter Connolly as PGM, and Lynne as the force behind the throne. Keith Beardmore takes over as PGM on May the 6th next year, with June at his side, and they were pleased to confirm that the Ball will again be at the Marriott next year, on the 24th of October 2015.

When Peter Connolly spoke to welcome us all, there was a real surge of support and thanks, as we all stood to give him a standing ovation.  After the superb meal, Peter & Lynne led the dancing, and were soon joined by so many dancers that the floor was full.  This was a fitting tribute to the band Pyramid, who have also performed at this Ball for 16 years!  They have however brought some of the material right up to date - I am sure I heard some drum 'n base for the younger members, as well as the usual barn dances, enjoyed by everyone.

The night was a great success, as the attached pictures show.  A fitting tribute to Peter & Lynne in their final year, and to Paul & Sally for organising it all so well. Many more photographs below.
